Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

One Down, A Few To Go

Another day down and one day closer to opening the doors!

Today, all the painting was done and dusted. I did the skirting boards and a tricky strip between doors. I cleaned the toilet and hand basin. Cleaned the other room divider, emptying out the drawers and cleaning out all the fine dust that floated and landed in them from the sanding and planing.

We cleared a lot of rubbish and The Fisher King did a tip run. He also finished painting the architraves and the doors, as well as filling more holes.

The Motivator and I moved some furniture and cleared some space so that the cleaners can do the carpets on Tuesday, although we MAY get them in earlier yet.

The Motivator vacuumed the carpets and cleaned a few of the bigger items in the space and we figured out what we didn't need, so that we could remove it from the space.

We planned our launch day for 2 weeks after our opening day, to give us time to make it enjoyable instead of rushing it for this weekend.

At 4pm I did a coffee run and came home to cook dinner.

I'm feeling a bit weary tonight and I don't think I'm capable of any further brain work. It's time to rest.

Nite all.
