Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

List Checked

Made a list and luckily I checked it twice, because I missed a task or two!

I've got my washing up to date.

I've prepared 18 days worth of meals for the dogs.

I've got my ironing up to date.

I'm partially packed.

I did the printouts for Vegan Chickie.

I packed the games/toys/stickers for Chicklet.

I've prepared ten meals for Adoring Husband.

Cleaned out the fridge.

I found my sunglasses!!! (not in the fridge)

Thanks to Adoring Husband who spent a good deal of time today helping me search for my sunglasses, my reading glasses and my black glasses case. We still haven't found my reading glasses or glasses case. The sunglasses were on the floor behind the couch.

*two hours later*

I JUST FOUND MY READING GLASSES AND BLACK CASE!!!

In one of the handbags that I had already searched through twice! Under the tissues.

Thanks to The Nikonian for suggesting that I check my handbags. I told her that I had already looked, but then I decided to try there one more time.

So in the space of six hours, I have gone from only having one pair of distance glasses in my possession, to having all three pairs back in my hot little hands. I'm so happy!

Disaster averted.

Now I need to go finish packing and hopefully get an early-ish night. We hope to get an early start tomorrow morning.

Nite all.
