Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Let the Fun Begin!

Our last day together and Chicklet wanted me to make and draw dragons .. especially 'Toothless' from 'How to Train Your Dragon'.

I had never seen that movie before, so after spending an hour or two, making strange creatures with pipe cleaners, paddle pop sticks, pompoms, sticky tape and scissors, we sat down with lunch, in the play room, to watch the movie.

Now I know how to make all sorts of different dragons! This is the first dragon in the making...

Then we made a video to send to Mama, but this is just one frame of it, showing Chicklet putting another cuddle on the cuddle door (each heart represents a cuddle that she wants from Mama).

We also played some more Zombies v Plants and of course Batman came into the equation again. We made finger puppets and Vikings and Viqueens.

She once again, curled up like a dragon and fell asleep, but a little later tonight than last night.

Now it's time for me to do the same. I have an early start tomorrow and I'm off to meet the girls for our Gold Coast getaway! Let's hope the rain hasn't caused too much damage down that way and my travel plans go smoothly!

Nite all.
